This All-Inclusive resort is situated on the butterscotch sands of El Palmar Beach, seven km (4.5 mi) from the fishing village of Zihuantanejo. Guests receive discounts at the championship 18-hole Club de Golf Palma Real, one km (0.5 mi) away.

Lounge chairs and palapas face the crystalline waters of Palmar Bay. Barcelo Ixtapa Beach Resort has two outdoor pools—one with a swim-up bar. Children have their own pool, plus a Kids’ Club for ages 5–12. Adult activities include tennis, aerobics, and volleyball. A dive shop and spa services are available at additional charges.
